Steps to Preserve What’s Here

1. Map all the apple trees here in La Veta and create an APPLE MAP. Begin the process of identifying the variety of each tree.
2. Care for the existing trees:
   • Prune the trees that could benefit from restoration
   • Take scions from trees that seem endangered and graft them to insure those varieties stay in town
3. Build an awareness and appreciation of our apples trees and their history in La Veta
4. Involve young people so the awareness and knowledge continues
